Orange Shades: Yesterday’s Makeup & Bey’s Concert

Hi lovelies,

As promised here’s the makeup I wore for the most incredible concert yesterday! She is a hurricane and an inspiration. I love her new song called “Grown woman”, have you heard it? She added it as part of her tour. Love the african beats and inspiration. Its performance is full of bright colors and traditional african dance moves…

To achieve this look I actually used a blush: Rituals, Peach Glow – magic powder blush.

I am in love with this dress from Alon Livne, an Israeli designer. B wears it exclusively for the “Freakum dress” performance. This orange color is stunning and the dress is so flowy and elegant.

Tons de Laranja: Maquilhagem e Concerto de Ontem

Como prometido, aqui estão algumas fotos da maquilhagem que usei para o concerto mais incrível que vi! Ela é um furacão e pessoalmente uma inspiração. Adoro a sua nova canção que ela incluiu nesta tournée ”Grown woman”, com fortes componentes e batidas africanas. A performance desta música está repleta de cores bem fortes e a coreografia contém muitos elementos de danças tradicionais africanas.

Maquilhagem!! A principal cor de usei nos olhos foi um blush da Rituals que se chama: Peach glow.

E ah! Estou apaixonada pelo vestido que ela está a usar nesta tournée mundial para a música “Freakum dress”. Foi desenhado pelo estilista Israelita Alon Livne. Este tom de laranja é lindíssimo e o vestido é elegante, fluido, sexy….

How to apply dry shampoo on curly hair?

Dry shampoo is a great invention! Can boost the roots between washes by absorbing oils from the scalp.

The issue that I came across was that you are supposed to brush your hair after you apply it. This is not an option for curly haired girls like myself.

So I had to be creative! Here are a few tips on how to use dry shampoo on your curly mane:

• Shake: Always give a very good shake before using it! This helps to prevent the product to become a white cast when reaching your scalp.

• Very quick & small sprays: It must be close to the roots otherwise (if sprayed 20-30cm as suggested) it is more likely to spread all over your hair and again remember that you can not brush it away… Also be fast, so there is not so much product deposit.

• Be specific: Other good tip is to simply apply it on specific areas you feel that are more in need instead of the whole scalp.

• Massage it very well: Give a good scalp massage to rub in the product.

• Imaginary ponytail: After massaging it, put a little amount of leave-in conditioner or hair serum on your hands. Flip your hair down and grab it in a ponytail with your hands. Start to roll/twist your hair it as it was a rope. Somehow “brushing” your ponytail but without destroying your curls (as you are only twisting your hair – do not finger comb it!).

• Why Leave-in and hair serum? A little bit of product on your hand will “grab” any dry shampoo residues that may have fallen from your scalp.

Como aplicar champô seco em cabelo encaracolado/cacheado?

Champô seco é uma grande invenção!  Ajuda a limpar as raízes absorvendo os óleos do couro cabeludo.

O problema é que se é suposto escovar o cabelo depois da aplicação. Isto não é uma opção para raparigas de cabelo encaracolado como eu.

Tive ser ser criativa para que isto funcionasse! Aqui estão algumas dicas:

• Agitar: Agitem bem a garrafa, isto ajudar a evitar que se forme uma camada branca quando o produto chega à cabeça.

• Sprays pequenos e rápidos: bem próximos das raízes, caso se aplique a 20-30cm (como sugerido nas indicações maior a probabilidade de que o spray se espalhe pelos cabelos. Lembrem-se que não tem a hipótese se escovar o cabelo… Sprays rápidos são melhores pois evitam excesso de depósito de produto.

• Sejam especificas: Outra boa dica, apliquem apenas nas zonas que achem que realmente precisam, evitando aplicar na cabeça toda. 

• Massagem bem: Dêem uma boa massagem para dissolver o produto.

• Rabo-de-cavalo imaginário: Depois de se massajar o couro cabeludo ponham um pouco de creme leave-in ou sérum para o cabelo nas mãos e de cabeça para baixo apanhem o cabelo com as mãos.  Comecem a enrolar o cabelo como se fosse uma corda passando as mãos com o produto até às pontas. De certo modo “escova-se” o cabelo mas sem destruir os caracóis/cachos.

• Leave-in ou sérum porquê? Um pouco de produto nas mãos faz com que se “apanhem” pequenos resíduos do spray que possam ter caído da raiz.

O meu favorito é o da Schwarzkopf – Cotton fresh (falei aqui).

Fui nomeada para o The Lovely Blog Award! YEAH! :)

Aqui estão 7 coisas acerca de mim:

• Acredito que a positividade traz-nos muitos mais benefícios e alegrias que puro (e despropositado) criticismo, especialmente entre nós mulheres. Apoio devia ser o nosso lema.

• Adoro música. Adoro mesmo música, concertos, dançar…

• Quando tinha 14 anos fiz o meu pai ir comigo a Lisboa ver os Backstreet Boys (pai fantástico não?). Chorei (Shhh…).

• A personagem Victoria Grayson na série Revenge é o meu icone de estilo para quando eu for mais velha. Ela passeia-se com os vestidos mais clássico, que favorecem a figura feminina. Usa desde Valentino a Oscar de la Renta… Linda.

Obsession: Professional BDellium Precision Kabuki Brush 957

A few months ago I got a set of professional makeup brushes from the Bdellium Tools (California): The Travel Line (check here!).

Overall I am very pleased with the brushes, only a couple of them slightly disapointed  me, but… The kabuki brush, WOW! THE BEST! Amazing. That’s all!

It’s a buffing brush, very dense and it gives a lovely skin finish. The quality of the bristles is truly outstading. If I were doing a blind test I would not be able to distinguish from other more known brushes.

So What BDellium Tools says:

“Full synthetic fibers. This 2 toned synthetic hair brush has the versatility to apply powder blush, cream-to-powder color, mineral powder or bronzer. The wide, flat bristled head allows you to pick up product with ease & precision while evenly sweeping the product resulting in a professional air blushing effect on the cheeks. Also, ideally used to buff liquid products.”

Prince point: retails for 14USD on their website but I got it as part of the set (cheaper).

It is both recommended to apply blush or liquid products, e.g. liquid foundation (I found this to be its best use). I am using this everday for my liquid foundation application and I could not be happier. Does not shed, the handle is very firm, cool color. Great, great, great! ♥Vera

Obsessão: Pincel Kabuki Professional BDellium 957

Há alguns meses atrás comprei um conjunto de pincéis de maquilhagem profissionais da Bdellium Tools (Califórnia), The Travel Line – a linha de viagem (vejam aqui!).

No geral estou muito contente com estes pincéis  apenas 2 ou 3 desapontaram-me ligeiramente, mas… o pincel kabuki ..WOW! THE BEST! É tudo o que posso dizer.

Este pincel é muito denso e a base fica com um acabamento muito lindo e natural. Se fizesse um “teste às cegas” penso que não o conseguiria distinguir de outros pincéis de marcas mais conceituadas.

O que diz a BDellium:

“Fibras totalmente sintéticas. Pincel em 2 tons que tem a versatilidade para a aplicação de blush em pó, creme-pó, bronzer mineral ou bronzer. A cabeça do pincel é larga e recta o que permite agarrar o produto com facilidade e precisão enquanto o distribui de forma uniforme resultando num efeito “air blushing” nas maçãs do rosto. Também, é ideal para usar com produtos líquidos.”

Preço: no website deles custa 14 dólares americanos se comprado sozinho, mas eu comprei-o como parte do kit (sai mais em conta).

É recomendado para a aplicação de blush ou produtos líquidos como base líquida. Eu achei que realmente era a sua melhor funcionalidade: estou a usá-lo todos os dias para a aplicação da minha base líquida. Estou felicíssima! Não perde pêlos/cerdas, o cabo é bem firme, cor divertida! Pincel fantástico! ♥Vera
